We use seed blends and sod varieties proven to perform in Capital District soil temperatures and climate, including Kentucky bluegrass and other cool-season grasses. We select varieties based on sun exposure, soil type, foot traffic, and your yard’s specific needs.
Late summer through early fall is generally the best time for hydro seeding, when cooler soil temperatures support strong germination. Sod installation works throughout the growing season. For new construction projects, we recommend the installation method that best fits your timeline.
Consistent watering after installation is critical for both sod and hydroseeded lawns. A sprinkler system or irrigation system makes it much easier to maintain the moisture new grass needs, but it isn’t required.
