Northwood Maple is a very hardy selection, this shapely shade tree features a brilliant red fall color and showy red flowers along the branches in early spring. Northwood Maple is easily grown in average, medium to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but prefers moist, slightly acid conditions. Very cold hardy. Leaves are medium to dark green above and gray green below. Low maintenance tree, and should only be pruned in summer after the leaves have fully developed.
