Granny Smith Apple is late maturing, late keeping, dual purpose apple. Flesh is hard, crisp and juicy with excellent tart flavor, that’s way its the best apple for cooking and baking. They are one of the few apple that don’t turn brown once cut. Fruit is grass green and shiny. Prune fruit tree in late winter or early spring give the tree a good trim to shape it and allow air flow between branches. Remove suckers and unwanted shoots at any time of year. Good pollinator for ‘Delicious Golden and Delicious Red’ apples.
